James Maxey founded Express Solicitors in September 2000, and as Managing Partner has overseen the steady growth of the business over more than a decade. Now one of the UK’s leading independent specialist Personal Injury Law firms, James has established the firm’s reputation as tough litigators who provide an unrivalled level of customer service.

James’ vision for Express Solicitors has involved placing a huge emphasis on training new solicitors, enabling Express Solicitors to attract some of the brightest legal talent in the UK. James concurs with wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill who believed that “to improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often“.

A qualified solicitor with over fifteen years experience, James has been a Law Society Personal Injury Panel member for over ten years and holds Senior Litigator status at APIL.

James is well known in the industry for having a superb success rate with uncertain and non-standard claims. These include a substantial settlement for five children who tragically lost both parents in an air crash, more than £20,000 for a scuba diver who lost a fingertip on a defective dive ladder and a securing £35,000 for a road traffic accident victim who was initially quoted just £2,000 from a previous solicitor.

Notable recent media appearances include appearing on BBC Radio 4′s You and Yours programme as well as at an ABS seminar where he was invited to speak as an industry expert.

Originally from Southport, James now resides in Whitegate, Cheshire with his wife and children. Combining the roles of Managing Partner and the father of young twins means his free time is at a premium, but when he does get the opportunity he indulges in his passion for scuba diving.

His most frequent dives are off the coasts of Scotland and Ireland, and recent trips have involved the whole family as they sail domestic coats in the family's motor yacht.

Horses and boisterous Chesapeake Bay Retriever dogs are kept at the family home. Quite a few, in fact, as eldest dog Sorcha (Gaelic for Queen Of The Waves, according to James) has recently given birth to a litter of nine puppies.
