Zaynab Awan is a Litigation Executive at Express Solicitors, forming part of the Employers Liability division headed up by Partner Sharon Denby. Since joining as a Litigation Assistant in September 2009, Zaynab has quickly progressed and now relishes the responsibility of having her own caseload.
Zaynab was the winner of The ‘Sir Joseph Cantley’ Scholarship from The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and the Leonard Sainer Legal Education Foundation Award from London firm Dechert LLP. She was also recently a finalist for the Manchester Legal Awards 2012, impressing in the Legal Executive Of The Year Category.
“Day to day contact with clients is one of the most enjoyable aspects of my job, together with battling on behalf of my injured clients against stubborn employer”, says Zaynab.
“Also, I am really benefiting from working with specialist personal injury lawyers I feel I am in the right place to learn and progress my career”. Zaynab is an ambitious individual, who aspires to one day either become an in house barrister or partner within the firm.
Recent successes include securing figures in the region of £8,000 for a variety of accidents at work.

Zaynab was born in Manchester, before fleeing the nest to study law at Keele University. You can take the girl out of Manchester, but you can`t take the Manchester out of the girl: as the saying goes, upon completion of her degree she returned to Manchester to study the Bar Vocational Course at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She is an avid fan of classical music, contemporary Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi being a personal favourite. Also as a naturally competitive and sporty person, Zaynab has enjoyed snowboarding and fencing since her time at university, being equally at home on the snow or sword in hand.
Always endeavouring to float like a butterfly, sting like a bee a la Muhammad Ali, Zaynab applies this to her fencing, snowboarding and litigation.
