Jonathan Flattery is a Trainee Solicitor at Express Solicitors, forming part of the Product Liability team headed up by Partner Daniel Slade. He specialises in claims involving personal Injury caused by defective products, and poisoning whether that be from food, drink or the inhalation of gasses.

Product liability is defined as an area of the law in which manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retailers, and others who make products available to the public are held responsible for the injuries those products cause.

Jonathan is recognised for his ability to bring claims to a swift conclusion, something which his clients have put on record as being a strength: “I know individuals who have had to stop working due to serious injury or illness need a compensation as soon as possible, because they may be suffering a significant shortfall in earnings from what they were previously used to”.

Jonathan has settled Product Liability claims valuing around £4-7,000 for Public Liability, Occupier’s Liability, Employer’s Liability and claims involving defective food and drink recently, with the length of claim averaging around 12 months from start to finish.

Jonathan is passionate about football and a fervent Manchester United supporter, and also plays a bit himself. He likens himself to Brian Choccy Mclair: not the most mobile of players but can spray it around a bit.

A naturally inquisitive person, Jonathan believes if you ask a question and you'll appear ignorant for a few moments... dont ask and youll be ignorant forever. This is never more important when working in the fast changing ambit of Product Liability Law.

However, Jonathan is rarely the one asking the questions when conversations turns to cinema. He boasts and encyclopaedic knowledge of all types of films and is naturally a first pick when assembling quiz teams to represent Express Solicitors in competitions.
